Checking in on the day

2 min read

Check-in is the first real status change on My Schedule, moving an entry from "not checked in" to "checked in" confirms you've actually arrived, and it's what lets an organizer trust their own running order on the day rather than guessing who's in the building.

How it happens

Depending on how a specific competition runs its event day, check-in is either something you do yourself from My Schedule, or something the organizer's team marks at a check-in desk as dancers arrive. Either way, the result lands in the same place, your own entry status, updated immediately.

Checked in. A real, immediate status change, not something you have to ask someone to confirm.

Why it's worth doing early

An organizer building or adjusting their running order on the fly leans on real check-in data, who's actually here, right now, to make fair calls about reordering. Checking in as soon as you arrive, rather than right before you're due on, gives them the clearest possible picture.

Not checked in isn't a penalty, yet

By itself, an uncheck entry doesn't cost you anything, it's simply the default state until it changes. It only becomes a real problem if your section's about to run and you genuinely aren't there.
