Reading the live board

2 min read

Bigger competitions, especially ones running more than one venue at once, publish a live Event Board, a public page built to sit on a lobby screen or be pulled up on anyone's own phone, showing exactly what's happening right now without needing a Comps account at all.

What's actually on it

  • Each venue gets its own card: who's performing right now, and who's up next.
  • A real running-ahead-or-behind indicator, computed from actual check-in and completion times, not typed in by hand.
  • Any notes the organizer's added for that venue, a schedule change, a heads-up, whatever's genuinely relevant in the moment.

Where to find it

An organizer shares the board's own link directly, it's a public URL, safe to project on a screen or send in a group chat. If a competition you're following runs one, ask the organizer for it, or check the competition's own page for a link.

It's read-only, and that's the point

Nobody needs an account to check the board, which is exactly why it works as a lobby screen, a parent glancing up between performances doesn't need to be signed in to anything.
