Entering as a duo, trio, or group

3 min read

A duo, trio, or group entry isn't just a solo entry with more names typed into a text box, it's its own real thing on Comps: a Group, built from the individual Dancer profiles who make it up, entered exactly the same way a solo dancer would be.

Setting up the group first

  1. 1
Every dancer in the group needs their own Dancer profile first, same as if they were entering solo.
  2. 2
Create the Group and add each of those dancers to it, this is a one-time setup, not something you redo per competition.
  3. 3
From then on, that Group appears as its own option right alongside your individual dancers whenever you're entering a section.
The entry form's 'Entering as' selector, showing a toggle between a dancer and a group.
Entering as. A group is picked from a list the same way a solo dancer is, not typed fresh each time.

Why bother building the group instead of just entering names?

Because a group re-enters things. A trio that competes in five sections across one competition doesn't need its membership re-typed five times, and if that same trio comes back next season, it's still there, ready to use, exactly the same reuse-it-once logic a solo dancer's profile already gives you.

A competition's own page, showing sections priced individually and the group's declarations sidebar.
Once a group exists, it enters a section exactly like a solo dancer would, same page, same price list, same declarations.

A dancer can belong to more than one group

Nothing stops a dancer being part of a duo AND a full group at the same competition, each is its own separate entry with its own price, and each shows up correctly on that dancer's own schedule on the day.
